Welcome To Your Living Body
If this is your first time here to Your Living Body, let me start out by telling you thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. Below you’ll find out a little bit more on the person behind Your Living Body and what this blog is all about.
Meet Your Living Body
My name is Matt. I’m a registered nurse in San Diego with a background in nutrition and personal training. I’m a surfer, beach lover, and all around outdoor enthusiast. I also love to get my feet wet with Spartan Race’s and mud run’s from time to time. After taking time to learn about all the benefits that real food, balanced exercise, and a little mental health maintenance can do for a person I believe that people can completely change their life around by taking a proactive approach to their health.
About Your Living Body
I started Your Living Body to have an outlet from the things that I come across in traditional healthcare. Working as a nurse in a hospital has made me realize just how much the world of medicine is reactive to health symptoms, rather than proactive. The traditional approach to medicine is to say, “take this pill for this disease and hopefully it helps.” The problem is, doctors and healthcare practitioners in general don’t spend a lot of time educating patients on things they can do to really take control of their health and what you can do to get off these pills. My job here is to help give you information to help you empower your decision making to help you with your health and your living body. Visit this site regularly to gain new insight, health, fitness, and nutrition tips to help you empower your journey to a healthier version of you – whatever your goals may be. You may also find it easier to sign up for our monthly newsletter to keep up to date with all the tips we write about over the month.
Your Living Body Mission
Your Living Body’s mission is to inspire and encourage you (the reader) to take control of your lifestyle by keeping you up to date and informed when it comes to health news, fitness, nutrition, mental health, and the many other things you need for healthy living. In general, we want you to spend more time away from the doctor’s office.
I’m blessed to announce that in November of 2013 I partnered up with the Primal Docs Organization. The Primal Docs Organization is a network of healthcare providers that includes physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare practitioners that believe the key to health is found through educating patients on health prevention rather than disease maintenance.
