Sadly, obesity shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, it just reached a new high. Twenty-seven percent of the United States population is obese. Percentages of obese are less in the coastal areas of the country while the highest percentages belong to the Southern United States. Obesity is a touchy subject but it is no laughing matter. Many of the patients I see on a daily basis in the hospital could have far less risk factors for disease if they were in a normal body weight. There are certain things that are beyond a person’s control but healthy choices begin with YOU.
