It’s no surprise here seeing as how most people fill up on macronutrients (carbs, protein, fats), but imagine how different your life could be if you filled up on vegetables and fruits instead. Like having a drastically lower risk for strokes Fun fact: did you know more women die from strokes than breast cancer?

Another win for paleo (or just “healthy” living in general: reduced inflammation seen in diabetic patients with a low carb diet. Interestingly enough, the results were found when comparing other people who were on a low fat diet.

Don’t feel like exercising for a straight thirty minutes? Well if you do a few short bursts of exercise before meals instead of a continuous moderate pace, you’ll have better blood sugar control.

I come across a lot of patients in the hospital with pacemakers. I hope I never have to have one. One study came out explaining why athletes are more likely to need pacemakers in old age. The Worst Health and Fitness News This Week

A recent study came out that followed a group of people from the Chianti region in Italy. What they found: that wine consumption had no effect on longevity and and risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

Why this study may not matter: keep the big picture in mind. Getting ONE type of food in your diet will not be the end all solution but a wide variety of nutrients will. Remember that. And also remember, drinking copious amounts of wine will not be beneficial to your health as alcohol will negate any health benefit.
